So Hungry
Sun Apr 15, 2007 06:10:59 PM by Travis
It's been three weeks since we last went shopping, which means we had to go to Kroger today. We just got back. We didn't have much in the way of edible food in the house this morning, so I haven't had much to eat today. We just got done unpacking the food, all of which looked delicious. As I type we're cooking dinner, and watching the Food Network.
Damn, I'm hungry!

Craptastic
Thu Sep 16, 2004 12:54:26 AM by Travis
What a crappy day. You'd think that, on a day when I only have one class at 11:00, it'd be a good day. So I went to class this morning, Philosophy, and all these idiots were mouthing off, trying to sound like they knew something. The poor professor was just trying to make a point, and these damn LSA morons kept on making senseless analogies, false assumptions, and generalized statements that said nothing. The professor couldn't stop them, of course. It's a philosophy class, he's supposed to encourage discussion. It was one of those times I wish I had a baseball bat with "shut up, stupid" written on it. That'd get their attention. Morons.
So then I get back, eat crappy dorm grilled cheese and tomato soup, which tasted like ass by the way (you know, like donkey. What did you think I meant?). After choking that crap down, like a good little boy, I decide to get an early start on my Latin homework that's due tomorrow. I open that up and it's four fucking pages of busy work. I hate busy work. After I finally worked my way through the waste-of-time homework, I decided to sit down and play a little of the Halo campaign. If you've ever played the last few stages on Legendary difficulty, you know that this probably wasn't my best choice of relaxing activities. Three or four hours later, after progressing through about 3/4 of a level, I decided to stop. People were starting to wonder what all the loud cussing was about.
So finally at about 8 o'clock, I decide to do a little work on the website. I'm not really happy with the current layout, so I'm trying to design a new one. Keyword being "trying." I know what I want to do, but I can't seem to find a way to make the stuff go where I want. There are ways I could get things into position and sized correctly, but they all involve coding that ranges from dubious to downright ugly. I can't find an elegant way to do it, which means I'll have to think up yet another design, and this pisses me off to no end
Rabid squirrels having seizures

Ahhh, back at the old Ann Arbor. I moved back into the dorm yesterday, which was an ordeal, as always. So far the hall seems about as I expected - a bunch of people whom I share no interests with that keep mostly to themselves. I did help a hot girl across the hall with her computer today though, so it's not all bad.
I went to Maize Craze yesterday. It's this event they put on for freshmen, where they give free food and prizes. Even though I'm not a freshman, I still managed to get some free food. I have to say, it was probably the best hummus and tabouli wrap I've ever had from the University. I didn't stay too long, though. The Dance Marathon people kept on getting up on the stage and dancing. Normally I wouldn't mind, but they were all sucky dancers. They looked like rabid squirrels having seizures.
...well, not really. I just really wanted to use that euphemism.
Mmmm, hacked-up chest phlegm

So I'm waiting in line for McDonald's tonight. I had to eat there because I was busy programming and lost track of time, and the dorms stopped serving before I noticed I was hungry. Anyways, I'm waiting in line, and I see on the menu that "Smiles are Free." At this point I've been waiting in line for about 10 minutes and am getting rather ornery, so I decide to be a smart-ass and ask the guy working the register for a smile with my meal. Then I got closer, and I realized the large black man was in fact a large black woman. She was scary enough that I decided not to do it. It was probably a good choice too, because I think she was sick. She was definitely coughing and hacking all over people's food as she was handing it too them. Lord, I hate McDonald's.
Nothing like crammed orifices
Wed Dec 03, 2003 12:27:48 AM by Travis
Ah, Thanksgiving. That wonderful time of year when we get together with friends and family and cram turkey down our various orifices. Unfortunately, I don't have anything very amusing to write about Thanksgiving. I just got done spending five hours debugging my last programming assignment for the semester, and my roommate is being somewhat of a tool. You see, he's trying to go to bed after drinking a lot of caffeine, and he seems to be having some trouble restraining himself. So, I'm going to go do something evil. I'll deny I ever did it, and he'll never figure out what it was, but that's part of the fun.
Oh, and by the way, I apologize if this little tirade bored anybody. You see, my roommate and I constitute about 75% of the people that actually read these things, so I figure a few death threats and whatnot won't hurt anything. All in good fun, of course.
Oreo Withdrawl
Fri Oct 24, 2003 12:52:18 AM by Travis
Well, our room has been Oreo-free for about a week now. Or maybe it's only been a few days, I can't really tell. Time seems to act kind of funny when you're on withdrawal. I know ultimately that this is for my own good. Eating as many Oreos as I was probably shortened my life expectancy by a few months at least, and I felt kind of bad because it was my roommate's parents that actually purchased them. Oh, what I wouldn't give for a sweet, sweet Oreo.
That's a lot of Root Beer

So the other day my roommate and I went shopping. We (well, he actually) purchased two boxes of 24 bottles of IBC root beer. That's 17 liters of root beer. I figure between the two boxes we'll be able to go about 3 weeks without having to buy more.
That's a lot of root beer.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Colonel Sanders' General Tsao's Chicken
Wed Nov 13, 2002 12:00:00 AM by Travis
The cafeteria served General Tsao's chicken for dinner today. Then I got to wondering something. Wouldn't it be great if Kentucky Fried Chicken served General Tsao's chicken? The could call it "Colonel Sanders' General Tsao's Chicken". I know I'd eat it.
